Wishing and dreaming and planning and sewing

Since my camera is broken and no way of fixing it or getting a new one until we live on porridge for the next 10 years... I have been seeing all these amazing sewing projects that I so want to sew.
The thing is that finding the time at the moment is the problem......well not a problem because I kind of like being busy, but I do want to sew, sew, sew.
SO these are the things that I want to attempt. These I found on a blog called Sugar City Journal. (Calli you may want to link this with all your good computer skills!!!)
OK. I cannot paste pictures in here. So here are some that I found in New Zealand That I LOVE.

This is a felt apron to go over a skirt! How cool is it!This was in felt also. Great over the top of a long sleeve shirt.
Well, I'm off to make some paper cranes with two sickies.
Dreaming of a time when I can stop playing blow your nose and see where I go!!!!
Toodles!

Yipeeee!

Happy, happy Over-100-Blog-Posts to Us!

Passion in Paris!!!!

Oh la la and all that stuff!!!

It was such a hoot.
Firstly Brooke is a WONDER to travel with- if no sister is free j
ust giver her a call. I had India giggles when I realised I was 9 years older then her (flip me that's old!!).

So our feet hit the ground and we all of a sudden feel like we are part of
"Moulin Rouge".I mean what do the men in Paris drink- love juice only... We were total hounded the entire day- did give us a lot of good laughs!!!Starting at the beginning flying in over multicolored fields with the magnificent yellow...
We stumbled across these cute little local markets before we even found out hotel and get rid of our bags... Mmmm fresh foods, flowers, meats, and sun warmed fresh strawberries..heaven!

We then discovered the Tour de Effel and took millions of pictures with the top missing!!!Then some very good ones also!!!

to be continued when more sleep is had- But I am Back!! X

A Spoonful of Sugar

They say a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down......but it sure doesn't help with Olive Leaf extract and garlic tablets, which I am being pumped full of to try and rid my body of this dreaded sore throat and no voice!!!!!
Also I cannot take photo's at the moment because our camera has decided to go all artistic and only takes blurred photo's all the time.....grrrrrrrr.
i love my camera.
I really need to go to bed, but just wanted to make sure everybody still knows I am alive!
So, until next time folk goodnight and goodbye.

Kt Mac

Where are you????

Living, busy, working, entertaining Tracy, planning a costume for a 90's BBQ this sat, helping Jean with the vintage car show, meeting my bosses for resignation meetings, planning my 5 months traveling, paying overseas banks money to study world health, making baby's clothes and monkeys, meeting for one to one bible studies, packing and re-packing boxes, washing uniforms

AND in between all this I eat, sleep, a lot and smile even more!!!

Goody gumdrops.  See you next week!!  And any chance you can bring me some bread soda?  I've started washing my hair with bicarb soda and vinegar, I'm almost good enough to eat.

Winding Down

My study-buddy got married yesterday.
And it's true, brides the world over are glowing and beautiful.  Floor was beaming and Dave was grinning like a goon, it was wonderful.  The service was held in Dutch which was great, instead of listening to what was going on I could take my time to gaze around the church and not feel guilty about not listening.  I think the service was generally the same as most weddings, as far as I could make out anyway.  The photo is Floor's family.  Her little nice, Puk (no idea of spelling!) was the flower girl, she was so cute and Floor's mum had made both Puk's dress and her own (see Mum, handmade mother-of-the-bride outifts are fashionable!).
After the church service we toodled over to the Ij (the big river/canaly thing here in Amsterdam which separates North Amsterdam from the Centre) in all our wedding finery for a reception on the Odessa, a docked boat.
It was a cool, chilled out affair and I even saw the bride and groom eat (something Andrew and I missed out on at our wedding!).
The eating included their wedding cake, photos included due to the un-Australian-ness of a Dutch wedding cake.  So, big congrats Dave and Floor!
Oh, and this is their super cool wedding invite, clever clogs.
And this is a little something that Andrew and I found on our way home from church this morning.  My fabulous husband lugged it home on the front of his bike and up our billion stairs to get it into our house.  It's a Singer 191B, made in Scotland in 1959.  It still runs, but there's a few stitchery problems.  Oh well, I love it in all it's retro-glory.

Number Three

Andrew and I had a hot date at IKEA on Wednesday night.  We gorged ourselves on hotdogs and ice cream and I snagged this awesome fabric to make my travel bag, number 3 on my list of 26 things to do before I turn 27.  I've cut and snipped and threaded and pinned and sewed throughout the week and here is my little beauty.  It's not quite finished as I want to add some padding/strength to the handles and I need to buy some more webbing to make an over-the-shoulder strap.  But it's useable as it is, I just need somewhere to travel now.  I used the tutorial for the funky travel bag off Craftster.  But I spiced it up a little with an inside pocket and an outside pocket with a zip.  (Take note of my handsome assistant who had just crawled out of bed.)  This was my first-ever zip attempt and of course I had to start tricky, but I'm majorly proud of the end results, huzzah!

Budgie Smugglers

A few weeks ago Andrew and I were cycling south of Amsterdam when we had to stop to make sure we were headed in the right direction.  We were in the middle of a stack of fields but I could hear a radio.  I had a little scout around and I found this guy.
Just taking a break in the middle of farmland with his radio and his yellow budgie smugglers.  Nice!

My List of 26

On my birthday Trin suggested that I make a list of 26 things to do before I turn 27.  So today, I hung my legs over the edge of the canal and made my list.  Nothing world or life changing but just little things I want to do.  I got stuck for awhile at number 19 but here is my list:
  1. Swim in Holland (brr-cold, and eeew-icky water)
  2. Have ice cream from the shop near Hema (there's always a queue of people buying ice cream, even in winter)
  3. Make a travel bag
  4. Sell something on ebay
  5. Watch Casablanca
  6. Watch Gone with the Wind
  7. Read Pilgrim's Progress
  8. Cook Rebecca's mum's apple gebak (great Dutch apple cake)
  9. Ride to Nambucca (from Scotts Head along the beach at low tide)
  10. Get new glasses
  11. Go to Alkmaar cheese markets
  12. Grow something (anything)
  13. Cycle a bakfiets
  14. Do the pedal boat thing in Amsterdam
  15. Drink organic milk near Broek in Waterland
  16. Learn some embroidery stitches
  17. Post a video blog
  18. Go to the Anne Frank House
  19. Make a Dutch meal (e.g. stempot - a mashed potato thingy)
  20. Eat at the Taco Shack
  21. Buy pinking shears and use them
  22. Go to the antique shop on Nieuwe Spiegel Straat (New Mirror Street)

No particular order, just 26 things to do in less than a year.
