Good Morning Snowshine

I woke up to snow this morning (that's snow on the flat roof and the ridged roof below)!  Actually, I woke up to a mixture of snow, hail and rain.  When I got Nafta out of bed it had started to snow again.  I was so excited and every time I said "Nafta, it's snowing" he'd laugh and laugh.  I tried to video it on our camera but totally stuffed up so you'll just have to take my word for it that it was hilarious and totally cracked me up.

I had a fun day playing with Nafta and going through Rebecca and Ben's bookshelf when he was napping.  And then I cycled home in the above weather conditions.  I almost died, it was ice cream headache worthy.  I was mostly frozen by the time I got home and I started to drip as everything started to thaw when I was walking up the stairs.  That's the not-so-nice part about cycling in winter and the snow.

Let it Snow

It's forecast to snow here in Amsterdam over the weekend. Oh, I hope it does!
PS Trinny, your salmon cakes are good.  I had them last night. Mmmmm.

Sneak Peak

These are a few of the things I'm using today.  Bits and pieces that will end up in Christmas presents.  It's just a taster, I don't want to spoil Christmas morning!

I'm having so much fun though.  My mess is spread from one side of the dining room to the other side of the lounge room, it helps having an absentee husband.  I have to clean it by tomorrow though, I'm doing a house and kid swap with some friends.  They're having a romantic night away (in our house) while I look after their kid at their home.  Romance done on the cheap, that's still romantic right?!

At the moment I'm sewing, beading, up-cycling, gluing, designing, searching and stealing.  Every crafty girl should have a 3 month holiday every now and then.

Thankyou's for parcels and packages

Two parcels arrived in a mailbox today.
I have two very excited children.
Parcels and packages are the best.
Thank you Aunti Strawberry!

Colours

Red doors (with lizard friends)
Blue pipe cleaners used as headbands
Green, red and white vegies - beginning of a spring vegetable pasta dish.
Yellow umbrellas
I love colours. I love them.

Movember

Day 15
Day 16
Day 17

He doesn't feel pretty any more and children run from him screaming...but it's for a cause, so on he goes.

The First

First Christmas present done!
This one is for Gracie, I figured postage would be cheaper to London when it's only across one ocean rather than several.  Hope she's still a pink girl!

INDIA

I am in India
May all women look like Indian women in colourful saris
May all food tastes as good as fresh chapatis
May all people be as kind and gentle
And
May I learn the Indian head wobbling yes, no, maybe!

Less Map More Bits

I have a hard time sleeping in on holidays.  There's just so much to do and so much to see that I want to get out of bed as soon as possible to start doing and seeing.  Today I woke up and started to bleach and stamp.
Yesterday's kringloop trip loaded me up with crafty stuff that I was itching to start stitching.  Hehe, not really but I couldn't resist the rhyme.  I bought some doilies that I want to stitch onto things but I didn't like the colour so I decided to bleach them in the hopes of gaining a better colour.
It didn't really work.  The bright red one turned a bright orange.  The other one is still soaking so here's hoping that it will be better!
I also got this groovy stampy thing.  Cool huh?  Especially for 6o cents with 3 little stamp pads and a gazillion letters in a wooden box.  Now that's what I call a score.
PS I'm totally loving Emiliana Torrini at the moment.  She is my current soundtrack.

Spani is moving in...

I am here to take over the blog for a little bit to show you all the F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C. time I had on Saturday night. Even if I was wearing a dress...The Hair...The back of the wondrful dress Mummy spent ages making. It's a grand thing to have a Mum that can sew. (It also saved a lot of money!) She literally sewed the dress onto me before walking out the door. You gotta love last minute touch ups.The parentals who put up with me when I was in 'study mode' aka messy and cranky and unwilling to do anything that didn't invole esterfication of chemicals or the concepts of music. These four lovely ladies have been with me for my whole schooling life. We started kindergaten together and have made it through 13 years of schooling together. Year 2 being our best year of couse thanks to a wonderful teacher. The Shoes...We all headed to Pris's house for some nibblies and drink before the man came in his long white limo to take us to the formal. Inside the limo...

The other side of the limo...(yeah we got to go backwards! WOO!)

This is my SLR buddy. Her and I were the only girls in a class of 20 so naturally we became wonderful friends bagging out the boys or standing up for the girls! (Trin did a fantastic job of my make up...so happy with it...so thanks.)

After all the dancing in highheels we were all a little drained. But it was a great night even if we did all crash as soon as we got home.

Well thats it from me. Thank you for letting me hijack the blog for a little bit. Hope you enjoyed the photos.
