The Farm

Langlan and I are loving being at the farm. It's pretty much been business as usual:

Mum making coffee and Langlan signing for more.

More toys than any child could play with in a lifetime of childhoods.

Chilling with Grandpa.

Doing boy stuff with Grandpa. Fire involved, of course.

Before Langlan's first haircut.

After. Not a huge difference but he was sitting on the bike looking at Grandpa, then over to the pool, then at Grandpa, then over at the pool so it was either a quick trim or lose an ear and we didn't really want to go all Van Gogh. Dad said he would have trimmed the wispy bits around Langlan's ears but I'm not quite ready to give up my Charlie's Angel baby just yet.

Hi Dad!

This Girl

So, Kenzi Lou had NAPLAN today. I hate NAPLAN, but she went and did it and has survived her first national test!
Today was the writing element. She had to argue this question, "Everyone should be able to cook." She could agree or disagree.
She agreed. The first point in her 3 part argument was this:
"You would need to know how to cook if you were out in the wilderness with only soup and sausages, otherwise you would starve."
It made me chuckle and I thought in between me baking and making, I would let you guys have a chuckle at her ingenious, creative and left of centre argument. This girl...she is one in a million, trillion, billion.
I hope that if ever any of you are stuck in the wilderness, you won't starve, because you can cook your soup and sausages!
(photo uploads are not working for me...grrrrrr!)

Our Mum

Every day I am thankful for our Mum, but just today because it is Mother's Day I say "Thankyou."
Thank You for your care and your compassion. Thank you for your generosity and your time. Thank you for your knitting and your sewing. Thank you for your cooking and your coffee.
Thank you for your love. Thank you for being our Mum.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY, MUMMA.
(fab photo's from Kimmy missing as the disk is MIA...just imagine the beautiful photo of Mumma and Dad at the farm!)

Home Sweet Home

It's been kinda funny settling back into home after a month away. Jetlagging with a twenty month old is a killer. But we're now back to life as usual, beautiful, beautiful life.

Flying kites with Daddy during Daddy's lunchtime.

Bunnings, because it's a Saturday and that's what all good Australians do on Saturdays.

Cycling along the bottom of Australia.

And peanut butter thievery. Lots of that.

Family

Last night we baked hot chips in the oven. We poured cold milk into glass bottles. We packed marshmallows into brown paper bags. We went to the beach and enjoyed each other.
 Family...ain't nothin' like it.
(oh, you want pics....sorry I'm still in bed enjoying family time and cannot get out from under 3 squishy bodies that have me trapped!)

KL

KL has been a lovely relaxing time. We've done this:

this:

and a whole lot of this:

Nothing else has been achieved except for sleeping. A very successful stop over in my opinion.

ANZAC

This morning the alarm went off at 4am. I rolled over and wanted so badly to go back to sleep, to snuggle down in my warm, cozy covers and rest a while longer.....but then I thought about our boys on those boats. You know the ones. the ones that landed on the wrong beach at sun-up on the 25th April. Those boys who were all brothers or husbands or uncles or sons. Those boys who really had no idea but did it anyway...for their families and the families of those people whose country they were trying to bring peace to.
I do not understand war, but I understand that these boys deserved me getting up at 4am and joining the other 8000 people that gathered at Nobbies to remember them.

I have  few photo's that Pobj's phone is not letting me bluetooth. I will pop them on later.

when next I get some pallets

This is just so pretty. I have some old art pieces that I scored from our best op shop that will be perfect to do this sort of thing above Kenzi-Lou's bed. Now just for time to do it!

great quote for teachers everywhere.

A Wale of a Time

We took Langlan back to the land of his forefathers this week (Mike was actually born in Wales as was his father, Gilbert, after whom Langlan is named). It wasn't long enough, it never is, but we loved it all the same.

We traipsed over a few rolling green hills, through a few mossy woods, over some rushing streams and by a big dam.

We fed ducks, skipped at Langlan's command, visited friends in Chester, ate too much good food, celebrated Liz's birthday a good few months early, lounged in the house and zipped about in our little car.

We love Wales.
