An Update of My Life

I'm still here, playing tourist doesn't allow so much time on the computer!  We've been puttering all over Amsterdam, sampling the goodies, and even making it out to Haarlem.  Here are a few pics, in no particular order, from the last week (stolen this time from Dani's camera):

This is how we: hide from the Nazi's.  We went to Haarlem to visit the Ten Boom Museum.  This is the hiding place where 6 Jews and underground workers were hidden for 2 days with no food or water after the Ten Boom house had been raided and everyone who was found was sent to concentration camps during the second world war.

This is how we: drink in style.  The best hot chocolates in the world.  And I can say that, I've sampled many hot chocolates the world over.

This is how we: buy flowers in Amsterdam.  We visited the floating flower markets, although we didn't buy any flowers as my beautiful husband had brought a bunch of bright tulips home to lighten up our dark, wintery days.  Aaaw.

This is how we: spend cold, snowy days. Inside.  Mostly.  (If you look hard you can see the snowflakes.)

This is how we: spend Saturday mornings.  Eating fresh super stroopwaffles from the street market.  Wow.

This is how we: chill on Friday nights.  Eating hot olliebollen in Leidseplein listening to totally funky music from a guy with a foot on a tambourine, a big bass, a voice and a dog under a blanket in a pram.

This is how we: help friends moving house in Amsterdam.  We even added another box to this after the photo was taken.

This is how we: get around the canals in Amsterdam.  In big cloggy boats.

This is how we: get a locked bike home after the keys have been thrown in the canal.  Oops.

This is how we: show camel-loving.  Yup.
